UNUSUAL RESIDENCE!
The apartment is located in the
historical center (the Roman
Amphitheater) of the old city of
Lucca in Tuscany, Italy. Lucca is a
city of 10,000 people living inside the
medieval walls and about 50,000 in a
large provincial area around it. The
city is completely enclosed within
walls and there is reduced
automobile and other traffic inside.
Lucca was an important and very
prosperous independent city-state
and a Principality under the House of
Bourbon until 1847 when it became
part of Grand Duchy of Tuscany. In
1860 Tuscany became part of a
united Kingdom of Italy.
Lucca is located 15 miles north of
Pisa (a major international airport
and rail link), 45 miles west of
Florence and 10 miles from the
beaches of Viareggio and Forte dei
Marmi. There are trains to all these
locations every hour as well as bus
service. Taxi service is available at
all hours at the railroad station.

walking up about ten steps from street
level. There is a vestibule, a large
bedroom about 350 sq. ft with a queen
size bed. A second large bedroom also
about 300 sq. ft. with a queen size bed
and a possible smaller bed which can be
added if necessary. Both bedrooms
have windows opening on the via
Anfiteatro.

A 400 sq.ft. eat-in kitchen with a large
window opening on the Amphitheater
with: a refrigerator, washer dryer for
clothing, a dishwasher, eating area.
There is a full size bath with tub and
hand held shower attachment plus a
separate enclosed shower and wc with
bidet.
A second full bath with shower only, wc
with bidet. A small toilet with washbasin
and wc is a half bath room near the
living room. All baths are accessible
from the hallways and are not part of a
bedroom suite.
The living and dining room has two
windows on the Amphitheater. Finally a
300 sq. ft additional room with balcony
window on the Amphitheater has a
queen size fold out sofa bed. This room
is also the TV and stereo room.

long term parking with very reasonable
rates.
Parking is called "Caserma Mazzini."
Minimum rental is one week. Arrival is
preferred on Saturdays 2 pm to 4 pm;
departure on Saturdays before 11am.

2-4 persons $1,000 per week during
high season (July to October and
December 15 to January 5; Easter
week) and
$800.00 during low season.
Each additional person add $200 per
week up to 8 persons (maximum).

Extra maid service is available. Cost to
be determined directly with the
housekeeper upon arrival.
Linens and blankets and all kitchen
utensils are included. All necessary food
and convenience stores are very close
by or within walking distance.
Utilities are included but not telephone;
those charges if any will be charged at
cost by the meter. Generally guests
bring or purchase a temporary cell
phone locally.
Regretfully, pets are not allowed due to
antique furniture and valuable furnishings.
